Hannah Marie Williams

Hannah Marie Williams is a Casting Director in Wales and London working across TV, film, commercials and theatre.

Hannah’s experience spans 12 years and all corners of casting from assisting casting directors, casting background and casting contributors for documentary projects. This mixture of experience now informs Hannah’s style of outside of the box casting, mixing a discovery process for new talent with the casting of more established talent. All of Hannah’s work is driven by representation, authenticity and attention to detail in world creation.

Hannah’s work as a Casting Director includes projects with the BFI, BBC, Film4 and Sky that have gained critical acclaim, several BAFTA and BIFA nominations and a best ensemble cast award at Canneseries. Hannah’s films have been selected for Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, Berlinale, LFF and more.

Recent film news include Festival of Slaps picking up the 2023 LFF audience award for Best British Film and winning the BIFA award for Best British Short film. Muna, another project was also nominated in this years shorts category at BIFA. Another project, Essex Girls is longlisted for the 2024 Best British Short Film BAFTA alongside Festival of Slaps. Nine of Hannah’s projects were selected for LFF 2023 and she has films selected for Sundance and Berlinale in 2024. TV highlights include Carthago, a 10 part TV series which was internationally cast and won Best Ensemble Cast at Canneseries 2023.

Upcoming work for 2024 includes Spectrevision and Bankside Films, Rabbit Trap plus feature film projects with the BFI. Alongside casting for film & TV, Hannah casts for stage for National Theatre Wales and casts for commercials with recent clients including Facebook, Dominos, Red Bull and Grind.

Together with actor & producer Maisie Williams and producer & filmmaker Lowri Roberts, she co-hosts the FRANK FILM CLUB podcast.
