Audrey Gillan is a journalist, writer, broadcaster and dramatist. A former Foreign Correspondent of the Year, Audrey’s nine-part BBC Sounds podcast On the Ground – about her time embedded during the war in Iraq – was nominated for a Foreign Press Association award in the radio/podcast category. Audrey currently has a TV project in development with Buccaneer and BBC Scotland. A previous drama, Exposure, about a female journalist embedded in the war in Iraq, was bought by ITV. Three of her plays, Secure, A Firm Hand and God’s Bidding, have been produced by BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland. She was also selected to participate in the highly competitive Channel 4 screenwriting course.
Audrey’s most recent podcast, Bible John: Creation of a Serial Killer, for BBC Scotland, won gold and silver awards at the New York Festivals Radio Awards in 2023. It was nominated in the True Crime Awards and shortlisted for a Rockie at the Banff World Media Festival.
